半胱胺酸(Cysteine) 以 穀胱甘肽(Glutathione) 的形式廣泛並且高濃度地儲存在身體的每一個細胞裡面。穀胱甘肽(Glutathione) 由三種 胺基酸(Amino Acid) 所組成，中間那一個胺基酸就是半胱胺酸。一般而言，在身體內部，這三種胺基酸的庫存量，以半胱胺酸的庫存量最少，所以補充 半胱胺酸 就近乎等於是補充 穀胱甘肽 的意思。穀胱甘肽(Glutathione) 是身體細胞內部最主要的解毒劑。
